IMP'sTop 20 Albums of 2009

Best-of-the-year lists were once the guiding light for occasional music fans to figure out what to listen to (and buy—go figure). Nowadays, not only can everyone have a list, but everyone should have a list. The internet relies on proliferation and thoroughness to be relevant, since some information isn’t good enough—we need all the information all the time. That’s also where IMP comes in, since the better the internet gets with lists and whatnot, the less trustworthy it is. IMP’s membership is populated strictly by discriminating music lovers with impeccable taste, and the crowd source eliminates anomalies, making IMP among the internet’s most reliable sources. So, here is IMP’s final top 20 albums list of the decade. Thanks to all who participated!
