Create your own "summer of love"

There's something about summer, a tie-dye shirt and a psychedelic concert poster, especially if you are of a certain age.Visiting Richmond, Illinois yesterday, I spotted a day-glow poster at Anderson's Candy Shop promoting the upcoming Galt Festival concert featuring Iron Butterfly and Canned Heat. Just add incense.
As the media constantly reminds us, this is the 40th anniversary of the "Summer of Love." Makes the Iron Butterfly-Canned Heat show even more timely. Or perhaps, timeless.
How will you celebrate and maybe even create your own new Summer of Love? Will you break out your tie-dye? Attend a throwback concert like the Galt Festival? Catch the new bands at a venue like the Pitchfork Festival or place your stereo speakers in the window, put on the Monterey Pop Festival Concert CD and party on the patio? How ever you choose to mark the occasion, may your summer be filled with peace, love, great times and fabulous music.
