Mixtapes

Unicorns are Carnivores

This is a mix of some electro-house and techno I've been listening to lately. Again, I haven't been doing the DJ thing for too long, so please excuse a couple of sloppy beat-mixes.

Electric 80s

This mix is a combination of a bunch of breakbeat stuff and hip hop from the 80s. This is the first mix I've recorded off my turntables and mixer. Considering that I've only been doing the mixing thing for several months, I'm happy with most of the transitions between songs.

Hi Andrew - I recently remixed the Techno mix I sent you around a year ago. Dropped some tracks, added others, and it's much better. Wanted to drop you a copy of the new version. Is your address still the same?

Rob

Hey, received my mix in this morning's post. Thanks very much - really like it. Rob

No worries, it'll be a nice surprise. Besides, I haven't listened to May or June yet, I've been in Britain...

Don't know what's up with the significant other. One minute she's complaining because I'm on the PC creating a mix. But once a CD gets a lot of positive vibe, she turns into Richard Grant and practically threatens to pound anyone who plays it outside their own home. (Sigh) Glad you're enjoying it.....

Ron

did you get the mix yet? let me know what you think, + or - once you get a chance to give it a listen. peace

Me again. Dropped the techno in the mail today. My wife is SOOOO protective over this mix that she doesn't want me sending it to anyone who is going to play it in a club or on the air. I don't know why - like you're going to steal gigs from me in Chicago? Wasn't planning on flying out and DJing anytime soon (lol). If you do feel like taking a break while you're working a place, just drop this in and you won't have to do anything for 45 minutes or so. Just one favor - if you do play it at a club, take some pix of the crowd and send them to me at hdtrip@comcast.net. That's only if they like it. If they don't, just tell me the camera broke (lol). Peace!

Ron

Just realized I never dropped the techno mix in the mail (after I saw it sitting, unmailed, in the kitchen). NOW you should be getting it shortly....

Ron

Glad you love it! I put a lot of work into this one, but knowing people are jamming to it makes the effort worthwhile. DJ software was used, but I did everything manually within it - selection and sequencing of the tracks, editing, adjusting BPM, etc. One of the techno mixes should be coming to you soon...
