About Me

I'm a meteorologist in Salt Lake City, UT (USA). To answer your first question: no, I'm not.

I enjoy: drumming, live music, fantasy sports, cooking, hole in the wall restaurants, useless facts, Dexter, the Dallas Mavericks, and being awesome.

Shameless self promotion: I am the drummer for the only band in Salt Lake City, The Toros. Check us out at .

Hi, did you receive Dec. 2010 mix?

Yo Monica! Just wanted to update you that I am still enjoying your CD from last April tremendously. Besides listening to Crooked Still's "Little Sadie" basically every day, I have also branched out to the non-banjo tracks and am currently loving "From The Corner To The Block" which is awesomely funky. Is the rest of that album good? Thinking about getting it.

hey, i just had your mix returned to me this morning.. i addressed it incorrectly... many apologies... it'll go back in the post first thing monday

hi, your my first assignment... have been checking out your profile and while I won't include any of your favourite artists I will (hopefully) put together something you like.... Hope to have it to you by christmas... it'll be coming from australia aj

Hi Monica I got your mix today and am listening to it as I type.I like it thus far. Thank you! Trish

thanks for the mix :)

Aww, thanks! Glad you liked it. Yeah, my collection seems to be rather Katie (and variations thereof) centric for some reason.

really diggin your mix!! <3

Hi Monica Stink that the CD didn't arrive! I always send mine at the start of the month, so am putting another CD in the mail today... I really hope it arrives this time!!!! Have a great weekend :) Nikki

I love "The Pool is Bumpin' ", That Sonics song is the BEST! and, I have never heard of Boston Spaceships but I really like that song! Thank you very much for the mix! Believe it or not, I, Satan, used to live in S.L.C. in the 70's and Eighties.

Monica--I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the mixes! I'm particularly happy you liked the Cash songs (I don't think the tender stuff like "Any Old Wind That Blows" get's enough appreciation.) Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks so much for the mix! I'm a banjo player, so have been especially enjoying the Crooked Still and the bluegrass cover of "I Hung My Head." Man, Sting can really write a song sometimes, huh? I get all choked up every time I hear his version, or Johnny Cash's, or that new one I just got from you.

I really like "Hand on Your Heart" a lot too. It makes me a little crazy to hear the original because it's completely different in mood. csvDooE

I'm late,I'm late for a very... uh, somewhat... important mixtape? Will mail it sooooooon!

thanks for my 15/16! I like that kind of thing. Love the mix too, it's great - i seem to listen to the IMPs in the car a lot these days and yours is well a good for drivin'. thanksthanks for the little note inside too - so few peopel write anything it's real nice to get a shot of personality. keep it up! mxbx

awesome, thanks!

Yay! Glad you liked it. Solid Gold is definitely a good track :)

Hey, your December mix is going to be a late getting to you, but never fear, it's on its way!

Hopefully *fingers crossed* your mix(es) will be sent out tomorrow. The post offices in Philly are absolutely dreadful as of late, shutting down for no reason, etc. Until then...

Great Mix. One of the best in a long while. All hail Hello Kitty.

Oh! I moved, so your mix took a while to get to me, but oh my is it awesome. I especially love the Massive Attack cover and of course Iron & Wine. One of my favorites. Is it really not as cold as you would think?

Oh good, thanks! Sorry, I didn't see your comment until after I had already clicked the "not received" button. I look forward to your tunes!
