Hail! Hail! The Eyeball Kid!

About Me

Writer/Advertising copywriter in San Francisco. Living in Oakland with wife & two dogs, The Dude and Walter.

Play guitar and piano. Into snowboarding and mixed martial arts.

Still can't shake the belief that Appetite For Destruction was the best rock album ever, and no rap group will ever top Public Enemy. Strange convictions since I can mostly be found listening to mellow acoustic stuff.

Sixteen Degrees of Separation

I once saw STEVE EARLE (1 AMERIKA v 6.0) play with BILLY BRAGG ( 2 AT MY WINDOW SAD AND LONELY, w/WILCO). Wilco's Jeff Tweedy used to be in UNCLE TUPELO (3 WIPE THE CLOCK) with Jay Farrar, who later formed SON VOLT (4 TEAR- STAINED EYE), who in 2006 toured with DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS (5 PANTIES IN YOUR PURSE). In Panties In Your Purse, DBT mentions BOB DYLAN (6 THINGS HAVE CHANGED) who was in the TRAVELING WILBURYS (7 HANDLE WITH CARE) with TOM PETTY (8 KING'S HIGHWAY, LIVE) who once covered "Asshole,' by BECK (9 TRUE LOVE WILL FIND YOU IN THE END). Beck appeared in a video by THE WHITE STRIPES (10 A MARTYR FOR MY LOVE FOR YOU) who once covered a song by DOLLY PARTON (11 JOLENE) who in 1982 did a duet with WILLIE NELSON (12 HE WAS A FRIEND OF MINE). That song, also covered by CAT POWER (13 HE WAS A FRIEND OF MINE,) was originally by BOB DYLAN (14 - LIKE A ROLLING STONE,

Laura

NICE mixes sir! I won't be sad if IMP makes you send me a mix someday. :)

Carly A

By the way, is this my April tape or my March tape? I'm late on my March tape so I thought other people might be too. Thanks.

Carly A

Thanks for the heads up. I look forward to getting the mix. So how do you like copywriting? I'm just finishing up a professional writing program and think that would be pretty cool. But alas, this has nothing to do with music so I'll leave it at that. I'll let you know when I get the mix!

Cal

thanks for the mix! i'll admit, i can't understand what people like about the silver jews, but other than that, all good stuff. you even put on my very fave richard thompson tune--it was fate. and the "california stars" performance is outstanding! nice work.
