About Me

I am a graduate student in art history at Bryn Mawr College, specializing in post war/contemporary art. I am also a recovering vinyl junkie but have no desire to completely kick the habit. My preferred record shops include AKA Music, Repo Records, Cue Records and Other Music. Online, I dig moviegrooves and dustyfingers.

In addition to music, I also enjoy the pleasure of a good novel. The following are among the most satisfying: The Sheltering Sky (Paul Bowles), The Master and Margarita (Mikhail Bulgakov), Foucault's Pendulum (Umberto Eco), Carpenter's Gothic (William Gaddis), The Discovery of Heaven (Harry Mulisch), The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles (Haruki Murakami), A Fairly Honorable Defeat and The Sea, The Sea (both by Iris Murdoch), The Crying of Lot 49 (Thomas Pynchon)

My wife(She is the one who put me on to the Mixtape project) and I love to travel and are always looking for an excuse to get away. Our most recent excursion took us to Shenandoah where we hiked and drove a segment of Skyline Drive.

Return to Thunder Motel

If I owned a roadside motel these are some of the tunes that would welcome guests in the lobby or gift shop.

This collection of songs is loosely organized around the the term "house" with several versions of The House of the Rising Sun serving as a backbone/refrain.
