About Me

I live in Manhattan.

In addition to IMP, I also help organize a small private mix club on LiveJournal, called godspeed_lmc.

Favorite Songs

Every song I like is my favorite song.

Favorite Artists

I'm bad at enumerating and assessing pleasures. Currently, my heart belongs to: Lee Hazlewood, Scott Walker, Bobby Conn, Caetano Veloso, Dusty Springfield, Diamanda Galas, Bobbie Gentry, and the great Curt Boettcher.

Favorite Albums

Recent Concerts

I'm going through an anti-gig phase at the moment. Last gig attended: Mark Bolan's 60th Birthday bash in Central Park (although I mainly went to see the opening act: David Driver perform the Scott Walker songbook. Shhh, don't tell anyone!).

Not really a Valentine's mix, per se, but still there are plenty of love songs here (cover art courtesy of thehyperbunny at Reproduced here with permission.)

Hi! Sorry it took me so long to respond, but I just wanted to send some appreciation for the Jan. mix! I'm really enjoying it and you've introduced me to a lot of artists that I've never really listened to before, so thank you so much for that! =) I hope you're having a wonderful weekend! Thanks again! Happy mixing! -Becky

Hey, your December mixtaper here, just to let you know I put your CD in the post today so it should be with you within a week. Hope you enjoy it!

Your mix is running late from October. I've had some technical difficulties with my PC. Hopfeully get it out in the next couple of days! Sorry bout that!

Was late sending your mix but it should arrive soon.

simply awesome mixes...get 'em listed on the site, people need to see your genius. sidneyp

your mix is flying to you now! behold the awesome powers of my terrible procrastination!

Hello, I'm your mixer this month. Any requests from my profile mix list?

Oooh - Scott Walker and Dusty Springfield! Nice, nice, nice...

Glad you liked. It was a lot of fun to make, and has been in my car since I made it. I looked to bands that either sounded and/or looked late 70s glam. Darkness is a newer band, but they took all the best parts of the glam movement and put their stamp on it.Enjoy.

"I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!" I love Sidney Lumet.

Got it. I was really looking forward to it and it plays even better than expected. Enjoyed at dinner last night with a pretty good bottle of wine. I'll slide yours over at the beginning of next week. Thanks again.

Anyone that puts Claudine Longet and Bobbie Gentry into mixes can't be all bad. Although I found the; "not-knowing-the-tastes,(at all),-of- who-I-was-sending-a-tape-to" a little daunting at first...I've warmed to the idea. If I know too much about the other person I'll just end up sending them stuff they probably already have. Where's the surprise in that?

Yeah, that harpsichord mix seems a fine selection. Maybe I'll make a mission of acquiring everything I need to recreate it myself. Suspect city of westminster string band will be a bit of a challenge, but we'll see.

OH DAMMMMMMMNNN. HARPSICHORDS. I would be all over that.

Naw...I have to dye my auburn tresses a lovely jet black. Ya skin, red head, it just doesn't work as a personal colour scheme.

RE: Rock That Harpsicord Shit I like the smell of this. Interested in making a side trade? Ross profileId=474
